Criticize your Government fearlessly when it deserves, but do not go on all the time attacking, indulging in destructive criticism taking delight in running down the ministry of the officials…. Remember that your Government is like your own garden. Your garden flourishes by the way you look after it and the efforts that you put towards its improvement. That really is a poison. We must put that down with an iron hand. Black marketing is another curse. I want to make it quite clear that I shall never tolerate any kind of jobbery. There is immediate and urgent need for training our people in the scientific and technical education in order to build up our economic life, and we should see that our people undertake scientific, commerce, trade and particularly, well-planned industries. I must emphasize that greater attention should be paid to technical and vocational education. (Message to the All Pakistan Educational Conference at Karachi, 27 November 1947).

If they are wise they will have to adjust themselves to the new modern conditions of life. If they don't God help them; we shall not help them.
